Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, & Specialty Metal Tanks

PKG Equipment Inc. has been manufacturing tanks for atmospheric pressure for over forty years from carbon steel, stainless steel and other specialty metals. These tanks are for above ground use only but are custom designed to suit your specific application. They are available in vertical, rectangular or cylindrical configurations with flat, cone, dished, sloped or “V” bottoms or a horizontal configuration with flat or dished ends. Depending on your chemical service, tanks can be lined with lead, titanium, Koroseal or Rhino lining, in-house. Rigid and flexible drop-in thermoplastic liners are also available. Exterior coatings, such as primers and epoxies, can also be applied in-house, but other finishes are available. Tanks may be equipped with options such as manways, ladders, platforms, baffles, sight glasses, mixer bridges, covers, secondary containment, as well as many other custom features.

We also manufacture tanks to API Standard 650. This is the American Petroleum Institute’s standard covering material, design, fabrication, erection, and testing requirements for vertical, cylindrical, above ground, closed and open top, welded steel tanks for oil storage. It covers tanks in various sizes and capacities for internal pressures approximating atmospheric pressure. There are additional requirements for tanks with a higher internal pressure. The standard applies only to tanks whose entire bottom is uniformly supported and to tanks in non-refrigerated service that have a maximum operating temperature of 200° F.
