Overview:
PKG Equipment Inc. has a full time position available for a welder / metal fabricator. This position involves shearing, rolling, fitting, tacking, and welding, including MIG and TIG, of various types of metal. Fabrication may include blasting and painting of metal. Reading work orders and interpreting blueprints are required in order to plan and carry out the design specifications.
Welder / Metal Fabricator Requirements:
- Enthusiastic and able to work independently
- Effective communicator; good listener
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Minimum 5 years fabrication experience in a job shop environment
- Proficient in MIG and TIG
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabricate from designs provided
- Experience operating shears, press brakes, saws, rolls, punches, and other manufacturing equipment
- Previous piping experience a plus
- Must be flexible to work OT & travel
- Heavy lifting – must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Aerial work involving ladders and manlifts
- Must be comfortable wearing a full body harness
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces
- Must pass a respirator fit test
- DOT physical may be required
- Must pass drug test
- High school education
- Must pass basic shop math test at time of application
- Valid NYS driver’s license
