Plastic Fabrication
PKG Equipment has extensive experience in custom plastic fabrication. It started with the purchase of German butt welding and forming machines in the early eighties. PKG was the third company in the United States to have this technology and the first in New York State. We began using these machines in conjunction with hot gas welding and extrusion welding to fabricate process tanks, wet benches, fume hoods, and ductwork but have expanded into other types of fabrications.
The performance of welded thermoplastic equipment depends on the quality of the welding, so PKG Equipment’s plastic fabricators are ASTM C1147 qualified. The results from this testing are indicative of skill in proper welding procedures for different thermoplastic materials and the proper use of welding equipment. Our newest butt welder produces quality controlled welds according to German Welding Society standard DVS 2208-1 and can be used to butt weld 90° corners on material up to 2″ thick.
Other plastic fabrication capabilities are design, piping, including bead and crevice free piping, CNC routing, thermoforming, field welding, and installation.
